Thanks Josh (who doesn’t use IG) for showing me AZ’s 4×4 trails. We got a fun hike up to Brown’s peak, one of the “four” peaks. A little more technical than we were expecting, but totally doable (even in Chacos!) Also, Jeep for the win. After finishing Kilimanjaro faster than I anticipated, I had a few extra days to go explore. Booked a last minute flight to Zanzibar and was so happy I did. Uhuru Peak, the highest peak on the African continent and the largest freestanding mountain in the world. Living near sea level, the 19340ft summit of mt Kilimanjaro kicked my ass. All actions above 16k ft were done in slow-mo. I’ve safely descended in altitude and completed the hiking portion of my trip. It’s about time to embark on a solo journey to one of the earliest known locations of man – Tanzania. This has been my most challenging trip in terms of logistics, especially with the delta variant being a looming concern.
