Today is a special day! While it is April 1, no joke here. I now have an advisor for my thesis! Additionally, I’ll be joining the VISA research lab at ASU. (Virtualized Infrastructure, Systems, and Applications). I will be focusing my research on cloud computing. Specifically at the edge. (think internet of things, localized computing, or smart grid). Crazy I’m nearly halfway done with my masters, but the craziness has only begun! Let’s hope I manage to push through 😅 Go sundevils!

💉 Dose two is complete! It’s remarkable looking back 12 months and remembering how crazy things were. Toilet paper shortages, zoom happy hours, full lockdown quarantine… (In CA). With everything happening, these last 12 months really flew by. I remember when talks of a vaccine was just a distant dream and here we are today. Two million vaccinations in the state of Arizona. Remarkable how far we’ve come and how much our lives will be forever changed. Permanent WFH anyone? Not looking forward to the side effects tomorrow, but hey. It’s all worth it in the end. Stay safe everyone. We’re almost through this. 💪 #longhair

Gratitude Post This time last year, I was accepted into the graduate Engineering school at ASU. After getting rejected from UCSD, I decided to accept admission and begin my program at ASU in the fall. A few big things have happened since then. Breaking up with my long time girlfriend, and moving to a new state where I didn’t know anybody, all in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Things were a bit rocky at first with getting situated and dealing with the Arizona summer… 🥵but I’ve found that Arizona is a land of oppurtunity. I started prioritizing being active again. Running, biking, rock climbing, SUP, etc. I’m thankful to live in a place with so many activities available through out the year. Tempe is a really cool, forward thinking city that really makes me forget I live in a desert (unless it’s 115 F°). But living in a fun place wouldn’t be nearly as fun if you didn’t have friends to share the experiences with. In the last six months, I’ve made new connections that make me feel welcomed to the state. Thanks AZ Peeps! Overall, AZ has been a very healthy change for me. I love CA, but I’m fortunate to call Tempe my current home. Where I’ll be 5 years from now? No clue. But in the mean time, I’ll continue enjoying everything this state has to offer! 🌵☀️👹🔱 #asu #az #tempe #grateful
